Hometown Office Renovation

It’s just life, isn’t it? Time passes and things will get outdated and stale, whether it’s the food in your refrigerator or that song you’ve been listening to on repeat or the interior of your office. Sometimes changing things up, swapping out a few old flavors or sounds or colors for new ones, makes a world of difference.

This week, we’re walking through an old office to which we had the pleasure of giving new life by updating its interior.

We’ll start with the walls, which were an outdated shade of paneling. We removed the paneling…

…and replaced it with CertainTeed® drywall…

…which we then textured and painted for a fresh new look:

Time to look up at the ceilings. First off, we removed the old 2′ x 4′ ceiling tile…

…next, we installed 2′ cross tees and painted the ceiling grid a fresh white…

…then, finally, we installed new 2′ x 2′ Vantage 10™ reveal-edge ceiling tile:

We also installed 2′ x 2′ LED drop-in ceiling lights for a seamless look that’s bright and also energy-efficient:

We installed new painted moulding throughout the office:

As well as new Raskin® vinyl plank flooring for a cost-efficient, modern wood-floor look:

We also installed six new Masonite® 6-panel interior doors throughout the office. Isn’t it fascinating how much a new door, white instead of brown, can modernize the look of a room?

We installed new vanities and commodes in the two restrooms:

The makeover is complete, and the office is ready to welcome its clients:

Is there anything in your life that needs to be refreshed? If it’s refrigerator food, we can’t help you; but if it happens to be your office or your home, we would be delighted to sit down with you and discuss making your dream space a reality. Our number is (870) 845-1121, whenever you are ready for your free consultation.

Interior Remodel – Part 6 of 8

After walking through the living room, kitchen, master bed and bath, two more bedrooms, and the guest bathroom, in this week’s post we take a moment to peer down the two hallways of this home, and see what they were and what they became.

One long hallway in the demo stage: 20160415_145946New freshly-painted drywall, COREtec® vinyl plank flooring, bold black doors with silver Weslock® doorknobs, and broad white trim make this a whole new hallway: IMG_1954And with a gallery of gold-framed portraits to give it character and make it home, this hallway is complete:2017-01-16 15.27.03

The same hall but from the other end. In this before photo, you can see the new CertainTeed® drywall, just installed:20160510_164554And the same completed hallway from this angle:2017-01-16 15.25.40

The other, shorter hallway with the new drywall installed but not yet painted:20160504_153146Here, too, we painted and installed new flooring, trim, and doors, as well as a new light fixture on the ceiling:IMG_1952And with the homeowner’s interior decor bringing touches of warmth and softness, this hallway is finished:2017-01-16 15.26.56

Not a complicated change, but wasn’t it fun to see? Next week, it’s time to remodel the pantry and utility room. Enter your email on the right or like our page on Facebook to be sure you don’t miss it.

Interior Remodel – Part 3 of 8

Do your master bedroom and bath feel like a retreat to you, or are they the kind of place you only want to be in when the lights are off? They may be rooms you keep mostly to yourself, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve as much love as your living room or kitchen. They should be your haven, the one place where you can let go and relax, and let’s be honest, who can really relax in a room they don’t like? Let us make your safe place as beautiful and peaceful as our homeowner’s master en suite becomes in this week’s post.

In a remodel, things certainly do get worse before they get better, especially in the demo stage here in the master bath:20160415_150018

With Certainteed® drywall hung, we’re already seeing an improvement:20160510_164541

And at last we have the completed master bath, gleaming in soothing neutral colors:  IMG_1970We brought the COREtec® walnut flooring into the master bath as well, creating a nice contrast with all the grays and whites:IMG_1968IMG_19672017-01-16 15.24.36

The newly-remodeled master bedroom keeps the modern neutral color pallette, but adds softness with the DreamWeaver® carpet and a pop of patterns on the bed:IMG_1964IMG_1965IMG_1963

Do you wish your master bed and bath were so pretty that you would want to spend time in them during the day as well as at night? We can tell you just about what it would take to turn them into a retreat as lovely as this one. Contact us here or call us today at (870) 845-1121 and we will be delighted to give you a free estimate.

Stay tuned for next week, where we’ll get a look at the magic done in the other two bedrooms in this home. Enter your email on the right or like our page on Facebook to be sure you don’t miss it!

Interior Remodel – Part 2 of 8

Do you ever look around your kitchen and just think ‘This could be better’? You might be right, and we might be able to help you prove it. This lady certainly did, as you can see in this week’s post, when we enter what is arguably the most important room in a house and watch it transform from a bare, unsightly corner into a beautiful modern kitchen.

After demolition, this space is scarcely identifiable as a kitchen:20160415_145730

Interior Remodel – Part 1 of 8

Have you ever wanted a new house, but you didn’t want to move? Do you love where you live, but where you live needs some love? You don’t have to buy a whole new house to start living in a better place. Sometimes, all your home needs is a full interior remodel. And Hostetler Handyman Service would be delighted to help you with that, just as we helped this lady in Nashville, AR, give her home a whole new look.

In this eight-week series, we start with one of the most important rooms in your house: the room where you entertain your guests, the room where you relax with your family, the living room.

In this photo, demo has already begun:20160415_145750

We installed CertainTeed® drywall on the walls and ceiling:20160504_153149

The brown brick fireplace and wall, though pretty, didn’t quite match the theme the homeowner was looking for. So she had us paint all her brickwork, giving it a fresh new look:2016-07-11 11.14.032016-07-11 11.14.00We also installed a custom built-in bookshelf:2016-07-11 11.14.14In this close-up of the finished bookshelf you can see the doors installed at the bottom, as well as catch a glimpse of the new COREtec® One Doral Walnut vinyl plank flooring: IMG_1939
