Hometown Office Renovation

It’s just life, isn’t it? Time passes and things will get outdated and stale, whether it’s the food in your refrigerator or that song you’ve been listening to on repeat or the interior of your office. Sometimes changing things up, swapping out a few old flavors or sounds or colors for new ones, makes a world of difference.

This week, we’re walking through an old office to which we had the pleasure of giving new life by updating its interior.

We’ll start with the walls, which were an outdated shade of paneling. We removed the paneling…

…and replaced it with CertainTeed® drywall…

…which we then textured and painted for a fresh new look:

Time to look up at the ceilings. First off, we removed the old 2′ x 4′ ceiling tile…

…next, we installed 2′ cross tees and painted the ceiling grid a fresh white…

…then, finally, we installed new 2′ x 2′ Vantage 10™ reveal-edge ceiling tile:

We also installed 2′ x 2′ LED drop-in ceiling lights for a seamless look that’s bright and also energy-efficient:

We installed new painted moulding throughout the office:

As well as new Raskin® vinyl plank flooring for a cost-efficient, modern wood-floor look:

We also installed six new Masonite® 6-panel interior doors throughout the office. Isn’t it fascinating how much a new door, white instead of brown, can modernize the look of a room?

We installed new vanities and commodes in the two restrooms:

The makeover is complete, and the office is ready to welcome its clients:

Is there anything in your life that needs to be refreshed? If it’s refrigerator food, we can’t help you; but if it happens to be your office or your home, we would be delighted to sit down with you and discuss making your dream space a reality. Office Remodel

A few weeks ago, we talked about offices and how some people choose to work in offices that struggle to meet their needs, while others build new workspaces, designed for their company’s unique requirements. There is a third option, which we also briefly mentioned: taking the office you already have and remodeling it so that it not only works for you, but it also becomes a pleasant place to spend most of your days.

In this week’s post, we’re working with a gentleman who chose that third option. It’s time for an office remodel!

The biggest project was the floors. In some rooms, we tore up carpets; in others, there was vinyl flooring to remove. Once the coverings were gone, we stripped the hardwood floors beneath and then refinished and sealed them for a durable and modern wood-floor look throughout the office:

We freshened up the entire office by re-texturing and re-painting both the walls and ceilings throughout:

In the kitchen, we installed new trim and replaced the dated cabinetry with new Mid-Continent® cabinets and butcher-block counter-tops:

A little rearranging and some more new Mid-Continent® cabinets make a world of difference for the refrigerator and coffee bar:

We also installed new fluorescent lights through the office. Who said fluorescent lights can’t look modern and beautiful?

One of the restrooms got new subway tile on the walls…

…while the other got a new pedestal sink:

The front door got a much-needed refinishing and a new Hamilton® mortise lockset, while the office windows were painted to match the trim:

A few photos of the newly remodeled office:

And a closer look at the new gas fireplace:

And for a finishing touch of elegance, we installed several new doorknobs throughout the office:

Meanwhile, outside, we poured a concrete curb for the place of business:

And there you have it; at least two businesses in the area have offices which they designed or redesigned to meet their needs and desires. Do you?
